Graduate Orientation Week (GROW)

Graduate Orientation Week (GROW) is a series of workshops, programs and events held at the beginning of each academic year to provide new graduate students with an opportunity to take care of important pre-enrollment tasks and to learn about UC Merced and the Merced community.

All incoming UC Merced graduate students are expected to participate in GROW. All workshops and sessions are required unless otherwise noted in the official schedule. The schedule includes sessions that provide practical information concerning the resources of departments and programs, the graduate groups, the University and Merced, as well as social events that offer students a chance to make new friends and to build community.

The activities listed in the orientation calendar are open to all new graduate students. Events are free, but all require advance registration.

GROW 2017 will be held from August 14 through August 22, 2017. (August 11 - August 22, 2017 for international students.)

The registration deadline for GROW was Friday, July 28th, 2017 at 12:00pm.
If you have not yet registered for GROW, contact the Graduate Resource Center immediately.

**Please note that heavy traffic delays, up to 30 minutes, are expected on Bellevue and Lake Road leading into campus on 08/14 and 08/15. Please plan accordingly to arrive in time to park, walk to the orientation building, check in and get settled before orientation begins promptly at 8:30am on Monday, August 14th.

Please contact Graduate Division at (209) 228-4723 with any questions or concerns regarding GROW or your transition to graduate studies at UC Merced.
