'Talking Circles' Dialogue Space to Promote Inclusive Opportunities

Social Justice Initiatives and the Office of Campus Climate host “Talking Circles,” a space to create dialogue about inclusive opportunities at UC Merced, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 20. The space is open to the campus community for reflection, quiet contemplation, crafting and individual connection. Health Education Representatives for Opportunities to Empower Students (HEROES) will provide activities including a wall of kindness, revolutionary art, open mic session and a self-guided reflection walk throughout the day. Join history Professor Mario Sifuentez and doctoral students Danielle Bermudez and Violet Barton from 3 to 4 p.m. for a panel discussion about inclusive excellence and becoming an advocate for creating a positive campus climate.
