Writing Through the Body

April 19, 2017 - 3:00pm to 5:00pm
In preparation for UC Merced's production of "The Vagina Monologues," by Eve Ensler, CARE and creative writing faculty member and performer Professor Dawn Trook will lead participants in excavating, writing and speaking the stories housed in their bodies. We respond to the world physically - what we observe, feel, experience and have done to us lives in different parts of our bodies. Using guided imagery, breathing, writing exercises and some light movement, Trook will encourage attendees of this workshop to uncover and articulate their particular body experiences.
