"Increasing Scientific Literacy in the Central Valley," featuring UC Merced biology graduate students, is this month's UFC lunch program.
You will be inspired by the incredible and creative work of these UC Merced graduate students. They produce the RadioBio podcasts -- two-time winner of UFC’s annual Community Service Award. Through the podcasts, they share their conversations with scientists about biological systems ranging from the molecular to ecosystem levels as well as topics ranging from cellular clocks to flying lizards.
The goal: to educate and inform listeners about all types of science. They have been recognized by the National Science Foundation and are featured on NSF Science 360 Radio and on Mariposa public radio.
You will find out why and how they are so successful.
The cost to attend the meeting is $20 for UFC members and $25 for guests. A reservation must be made to guarantee your seat. The reservation deadline is Wednesday, Feb. 26. Call 209-228-4440 to RSVP. If you need further assistance, call 209-631-4378.
UFC encourages anyone from UC Merced and surrounding communities to join. Visit the website for membership information.
