Doctoral Candidates

Summer 2017
  • June 15, 2017 - Last day to file Graduate Student Graduation Application for Summer 2017 graduation with the Registrar's Office
  • July 17, 2017 - File Fall 2017 Advancement to Candidacy for Ph.D. Students with Graduate Division (approximately one month before Fall semester)
  • August 4, 2017 - Students graduating Summer 2017 - Recommended latest date to file dissertation with Committee
  • August 11, 2017 - Students graduating Summer 2017 - File dissertation and Report on Final Examination form with Graduate Division
Fall 2017
  • September 15 - Last day to file Graduate Student Graduation Application for Fall 2017 graduation with the Registrar's Office
  • December 12 - Students graduating Fall 2017 - Recommended latest date to file dissertation with Committee
  • December 15  - Students graduating Fall 2017 - File dissertation and Report on Final Examination form with Graduate Division

Spring 2018

To be considered for all forms of student financial support, graduate students are required to submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). We encourage all students to submit their FAFSA by the March 2nd priority deadline each year.

*The application deadlines are noted above unless otherwise indicated by the Graduate Group. Deadline dates are subject to change.

Financial Aid and Scholarships Office

Graduate financial support can come in the form of internal and external fellowships, scholarships, Graduate Student Research Appointments, Graduate Student Teaching Appointments and loans.

Several forms of financial support will be available to facilitate the pursuit of a graduate education at UC Merced. Most forms of support are granted for merit, while others are granted for financial need or for a combination of merit and need. Financial support for graduate students is in large part provided by the Graduate Division. The Office of Financial Aid coordinates with the Graduate Division to provide all forms of student support.
