Industry Research in User Experience

User Experience Research is a rapidly evolving interdisciplinary field spanning the cognitive and social sciences, computer science, marketing, and traditional forms engineering. In this talk, we’ll look at a few notable moments in the history of UX Research, some emerging topics, and cover questions frequently asked about industry research by professors and students alike. 

Speaker:
Dr Ricardo Prada heads the Design+Research team at X (formerly Google X) which incubates new technologies like balloon-based internet, self-driving cars, and smart contact lenses. Previously, he led research on most of Google's advertising products and worked on future flight decks at Boeing.  Ricardo holds a PhD in Human Factors Psychology from George Mason University, a bachelors from San Francisco State, and certifications in data driven marketing and project management from Cornell and Stanford.
