The Graduate Studies Ambassador Program is an excellent leadership and professional development opportunity for students who are interested in becoming the student face of graduate education and student life at UC Merced.  The ambassadors will assist prospective and new students by sharing their knowledge and experiences as UCM graduate student. As a Graduate Studies Ambassador you will directly participate in the student success, recruitment and outreach initiatives of the university.

Duties (Including but not limited to the following):

  • Assist wih campus tours, lab tours, graduate fairs, on and off-campus presentations and other recruiting events and activities
  • Communicate with prospective students through email and virtual fairs
  • Assist new students in understanding their academic responsibilities and requirements and the registration
  • Attend all appropritate trainings and workshops for the Graduate Studies Ambassador program
  • Participate in a focus group to improve current graduate student recruitment and retention practices of the campus

Preferred Qualifications

  • Must be a UC Merced graduate student and maintain a GPA greater than 3.0
  • Must make normative progress toward their degree, according to each program’s normative time to degree. 
  • Possess leadership experience
  • Good writting and speaking communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and creativitiy skills
