Back to the Competitive Edge Summer Bridge home page
What are this year’s dates? The competitive edge summer bridge 2024 will be offered from July 16th to August 13th. |
Do I have to stay the whole time and attend all activities?Yes. A condition of a spot in this highly regarded program is that participants attend the entire time, as well as the research symposium on August 13th. |
When do I get paid?Half of your stipend will be disbursed approximately a week before the start date, and the remaining upon completion of the program. |
Where can I see my schedule? The schedule for summer bridge is dependent on the graduate program you are joining. The schedules and faculty acting as your contacts for the summer bridge are listed here. |
Will housing be provided?Housing is not provided by the summer bridge program. However, we have resources available here to assist you in finding housing that suits your needs. |
Is there a meal plan to go with my stipend? No, your stipend is calibrated to cover lodging and food expenditures. Some summer bridge activities are planned around meals where you are all invited to join. |
If I drive to campus, where can I park/get a permit? For the first day, your best option is to use the daily paid parking through Flowbird. However, you can also purchase permits for temporary parking in any non-specially marked space in Green Zone in Bellevue Lot. These are virtual permits that can be purchased at pay stations located within the lot and are $8 per day. After this, you can get a short-term visitor parking permit for the month as outlined here. Campus map here has the Bellevue Lot and the building where we will meet on July 16th circled. |
I don’t own a car – how will I get to campus every day?We have several transportation options, including our own CatTracks bus system. View all options and schedules here. If you are into biking, check out our bicycle program here. |
I have an emergency childcare/health/caregiver issue – can I leave early/arrive late some days?We will all try our best to make accommodation for unexpected problems. Please contact the summer bridge coordinator of your graduate program listed here. |
