Our extensive professional development programming caters to students at every stage of their graduate careers, with workshops and talks that encompass everything from finding and applying for extramural funding to demystifying the academic publishing process to exploring various career paths.National Labs Day at UC Merced

Competitive Edge Summer Bridge - A six-week program that gives incoming students a headstart in acclimating to graduate studies.

Peer Mentor Program - First-year doctoral students receive coaching and engagement with a community of advanced doctoral peer mentors.

Grad Slam - A UC-wide competition among graduate students in which students have three minutes to present their research in an interesting, informative manner. 

Dissertation Bootcamp - Open to students working on, theses, articles, or grant/fellowship proposals, this intensive workshop will help to kickstart or revitalize your writing process.

Professional Development Conferences - One-day conferences in specific fields from academy to industry hosted by Graduate Division to prepare students for professional careers.

Professional Development Course GTSU 210 - A multi-track professional development series designed to prepare graduate students.
