Academic Counseling

Our Graduate Academic Counselor, Maria Nishanian, is available to support students with their academic journey with in-person meetings, phone meetings, and workshops. Areas of support can include:

  • One-on-one counseling
  • Academic and personal support
  • Help in developing effective communication skills
  • Time management strategies and work/life balance
  • Help overcoming self-doubt and imposter syndrome
  • Facilitate good mentoring relationships and healthy research communities
  • Referrals to campus resources
  • Lend a listening ear when students are stressed
