Dissertation Boot Camp Applications Due 4/29

April 29, 2016 - 5:00pm

This year's summer Dissertation Boot Camp will be held on May 16-20, 2016. You can find the Dissertation Boot Camp application here.

Graduate Division offers this program as a way to provide dedicated writing space and time for a variety of writing projects – proposals, articles, and theses in addition to dissertation materials. The program is designed to shake up your routine and promote healthy and sustainable writing habits that will serve you for years to come.

During the week-long program, we will provide quiet writing space, peer groups for support and accountability, writing and editing support, and optional lunchtime workshops in addition to meals, snacks, and lots of coffee.

Stages:

  • Dissertation Writing Boot Camp: Stage 1 (May 16-20)

Students in stage 1 are beginning to write the dissertation, thesis, or proposal
  • Dissertation Writing Boot Camp: Stage 2 (May 16-20)

Students in stage 2 have already written a good portion of the dissertation, thesis, or proposal (e.g. a third or more of the literature review, some of the results, etc.)

Applications will be reviewed in the order received, up to a maximum of 10-15 students per stage of boot camp. If you wish to participate, please submit your application by Friday, April 29, 2016 to graddiv@ucmerced.edu.

Boot camp is fully sponsored by the Graduate Division, but you must commit to attending every day of your camp for purposes of continuity and support for your colleagues.
